Paddy, formerly a TV and film actress, started the label in 1979. She opened her first shop,
with her design studio above in a nineteenth century tea warehouse in St Christopher's Place, just off Oxford Street. A second shop, in Beauchamp Place, Knightsbridge, followed in 1984. And this year coinciding with the label's thirtieth birthday, she is opening her third shop, in Wimbledon Village.

As well as in the three Paddy Campbell shops, the clothes are available in shops throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland - including Liberty of London. And next summer (S/S 2010) will see the launch of an online shop, where the collection will be available to buy over the Internet.

Collections are designed by Paddy and her daughter Rebecca, and they follow the same design philosophy which first inspired Paddy; to create unusual, timeless pieces, that are beautifully made in fabrics of the highest quality.

Most of the clothes are made in United Kingdom, so that every stage of the design and production process can be controlled, and ensuring that everything is made to the highest standard and is impeccably finished.

Asked by our website designers to think of a 'strap line' to encapsulate the company's philosophy, we came up with "Clothes to Love Forever", inspired by the comments of many women who have bought from us. 'Working above the shop', as they do, Paddy and Rebecca are so proud when customers describe how long many of the clothes have been worn and loved. In an increasingly throwaway age, it is their aim to create those deceptively simple garments that will become your wardrobe 'best friends'.
